Bell Tents

We have 3 x beautiful 5 metre Bell Tents available to book at Glassenbury Camping.

These are perfect for people who want the real outdoors, off-grid camping experience but don’t fancy pitching their own tent.
You can also hire all 3 Bell Tents and have exclusive use of the Bell Tent area and facilities for your group.

 Our Bell Tents are fully furnished for 2 adults, however they are plenty large enough to sleep 2 children too.
We provide two roll out mat campbeds per Bell Tent for kids to sleep on, but you will need to bring your own pillows and bedding for the children. *Please see the details here for the roll out campbeds for children. You are also still welcome to bring your own campbeds for the children if you prefer.* 

There is no additional charge for your children.

Our Bell Tents are each furnished with a comfortable double bed with bedding for a restful nights sleep.
Side tables, a mirror and chairs, a fire pit with bbq grill are also all provided in this comfortable off-grid retreat.

 

Each Bell Tent is uniquely decorated with its own selection of collected and cycled treasures. The soft furnishings and decor may therefore vary from the advertised photo.

They are set within a designated corner of our main campsite with lovely views across the valley. Please note that there will be grass tent pitches situated across the rest of the same camping field but there is plenty of space and distance for everyone.

  • For all group bookings enquiries (i.e. you would like to hire all three Bell Tents together)

  • For stays longer than 5 days

  • If you are a group looking to book Bell Tent's and normal grass pitch tent camping together

  • If you would like to bring your dog


There are a number of great local farm shops that sell local produce, BBQ meats, take away snacks, hot drinks and alcohol.  If you don't fancy cooking then there are plenty of local pubs, restaurants and cafes. And the town of Cranbrook is approximately a 40 minute walk away along a lovely woodland public footpath.

Our campsite is an off-grid eco campsite and all of our facilities are provided with careful consideration to the environment:

  • Clean bed linen for 2 adults is provided, but please bring with you your own hand and bath towels.

  • You will have access to 2 compost loos. These compost toilets are shared exclusively by our 3 Bell Tents onsite, but are not accessible by the wider campsite visitors. All facilities are regularly checked and cleaned. (Please note that that we only have compost toilets onsite. Please do not book with us if you are expecting flushing toilets.)

  • You will also have access to 2 showers (1 gas shower, and 1 bucket shower for those feeling more adventurous!) these 2 shower options are shared exclusively by our 3 Bell Tents onsite. (Eco soaps and shampoos are provided. please bring your own towels).

  • We provide a fire pit with some basic bbq attachments. We sell sustainably sourced firewood as an add on to your booking. You must not collect any fallen wood from the campsite or surrounding land.

  • We also include some of the basic equipment you need for eating and drinking to lighten your packing list. (please wash up everything that you use)

  • Washing up points (eco washing up liquid provided)

  • As we are an off-grid campsite there are no phone charging points onsite, please bring a portable charger if you need to charge your phone during your stay, or switch of completely and disconnect!

    What's included in each Bell Tent?:

  • 1 x double bed with bedding

  • 2 x wooden chairs for outside

  • Cutlery: 2 knives and 2 forks, 2 spoons

  • 2 x Small mugs

  • 2 x Plates 

  • 2 x Bowls

  • 1 x Small cast iron frying pan

  • 1 x Small metal saucepan

  • 1 x Wooden spoon

  • 1 x Basic bbq utensils (tongs etc)

  • 1 x Small chopping board

  • 1 x Kettle and a single small gas burner for making tea and coffee

  • 1 x Fire pit with grill attachment for cooking on

  • This year we have added these single roll up campbeds for children to lighten your packing load - (2 per Bell Tent included). You are also still welcome to bring your own campbeds if you prefer. Please remember bedding and pillows for your children.
